On November 14th, the opening eve of 2015 TEDxFuxingPark Annual Conference, TEDx and MATSU worked together and hosted a design banquet in the theme of Serendipity Happy Surprise in MATSU flagship store in Xuhui, Shanghai.
Almost a hundred guests from all walks of life yet pursue similarly high level of thinking attended the banquet in MATSU’s flagship store where they experienced office spaces that perfectly integrated Technology, Entertainment and Design. They shared not only the unbelievably precious serendipity but also the happy surprise they made for each other.
Serendipity means a lucky, unexpected occurrence or development of events by chance in a happy way. So Serendipity could be an accident, a mistake that goes from bad to good, and a surprise that leads up to success.
At the banquet, Ms. JingjingZou, founder of TEDxFuxingPark and planner of the event, shared with us the theme and TEDxFuxing Park, a team that communicates the world with valuable thoughts.

Ms. Elise Lammers, innovation leader in ENREACH Education, gave a speech as a representative of all speakers of this year’s meeting, expressing her best wishes for a successful meeting and hopes that the audience would love and support drama performances more. Elise comes from Chicago, and she graduated from DePaul University, majoring in drama performance. She came to China in 2013 and has taught in Shanghai, Wuxi and Ningbo.
Mr. Long Liang, person-in-charge of MATSU who is one of the hosts at the banquet, shared with the audience what would be a happy surprise in office spaces.
MATSU and TEDxFuxing Park’s cooperation this time is one of the happy surprises. Serendipity brings them together so that they could discover the shared values in one another. The happy chance started an amazing journey of partnership!
Surprises in office life
MATSU breaks the old definition of workspaces and creates a working environment that facilitates communication and cooperation. Internal communication or external cooperation, every encounter can turn into sparkles of inspirations and smoothness of cooperation, with surprises that no one had ever expected.
Serendipity can be exemplified by all innovations who share similar natures: they were created by humans’ who could see when others couldn’t and who could see bridges when others saw abysses only. MATSU sees other possibilities and values in traditional office spaces. It is the surprise that MATSU brings to people’s office life.
Tonight, in an inspirational space of MATSU, people gathered together under the arrangement of Serendipity, talked to each other as mutual understanding kept popping up and received happy surprises in every minute of the night. In the future, it is the hope that more people will receive their business surprises in magnetic spaces created by MATSU.
