During the event, CUSHMAN&WAKEFIELD shared with us its long-standing wise ideas and thoughts in this field in many dimensions.

Since 2015, MATSU has been in intensified collaboration with CUSHMAN&WAKEFIELD, and created a business atmosphere of significant architectural aesthetics and inspiration for its discussion session. The theme of Shanghai conference was “Conversion, the smart path to an excellent global city”, where experts and distinguished guests gathered, including government people from many cities, experts from home and abroad, real estate practitioner and financial investment firms. Guests from all walks of life were talking with us about the fresh marketing perspectives and industrial best practices. Everyone was actively discussing the important “city renewal” concept.

During the past 30 years, city renewal has been accompanying the great development made in large and medium cities in China, and now here comes the brand new 4.0 era seeking for development centering on conversion and appreciation. The white book “City Renewal 4.0: the smart path to an excellent global city” has penetrated into the significant influence brought by new tides of city renewal from perspectives like city renewal elements, driving force, research topic, successful stories and developing paths.

According to the report, under the trend of building a smart, efficient and sustainable city center, City Renewal 4.0 has always been the driving force to promote city modern economic development to next stage. Still, it has made commitments with regards to long-term preservation of city properties under the circumstance of fast urbanization and ever-changing city environment. While China’s cities are considering how to renew or re-construct their existing properties (buildings/land), they should take into consideration citizens’ requirement for real estate, so as to realize the renewal and re-construction in a sustainable way.
