Tran-boundary, Art and Technology – MATSU participated in the CIID Beijing Salon

On July 25, 2014, Beijing Salon 2014, sponsored by China Institute of Interior Design (CIID), organized by China IPPR International Engineering Corporation and co-organized by Architecture Technique magazine, was successfully held in China IPPR International Engineering Corporation.
Themed “Tran-boundary - Art and Technology”, MATSU had a heated discussion about design with designers from Beijing and focused on the “Tran-boundary” cultural phenomenon on the salon.
As a total solution planner and implementer of high-end office space, MATSU was invited for this salon, during which it erected a booth with modular architecture system to present to and share with all participated designers its unique understanding on interior space planning and design.
At the start of the event, Ms. Zou Huying, President and Executive Director of CIID, delivered the opening speech.
Afterwards, Mr. Sun Zonglie, Chief Architect of China IPPR International Engineering Corporation and vice director of Architecture Design Institute, also made a speech.
At the salon, Mr. Guo Jun, national first-class registered architect and Director of China IPPR International Engineering Corporation Architectural Creation Studio, shared with the participants his great trans-boundary vision on high-end residential design with a theme of “beyond the boundary” as a guest speaker.
In his opinion, the creation of high-end residence is definitely not only about design and price. Only with trans-boundary thinking from multiple fields as location, origin, customized design, value-added service as well as marketing can we truly create an iconic masterpiece.
Afterwards, Mr. Gao Liping, Chairman & Design Director of Beijing UN Design (branch of US UN in China), elaborated the trans-boundary means that make design genuine from perspective of design thinking.
Moreover, Ms. Wang Yanjie, Director of Decoration Department of Decoration & Civil Engineering Business Division, Civil Architecture Design Institute of China IPPR International Engineering Corporation, presented the idea that “breaking the boundary” must come before “trans-boundary” by enumerating various cases, which has been applied to the actual design project of a Maternity and Infant Hospital.
Mr. Chen Liang, general manager of Decoration & Civil Engineering Business Division, Civil Architecture Design Institute of China IPPR International Engineering Corporation, pushed the event to another climax with his unique and humorous speech style.
He analyzed and deconstructed the trans-boundary behavior into four sections as diversification, integration, breakthrough and innovation. His witty speech style enlivened the whole atmosphere on the site and reached ideological echo with the participants.
In the following trans-boundary dialogue and discussion session, Mr. Zhang Xiaohu, Design Director of Hospitality Business Division of COFCO, also actively participated in the discussion and communication.
Beijing Salon 2014 aims to create a new platform of communication and exchange for the interior design community in China, bring more inspirations by way of sharing and exploit more cooperation opportunities. MATSU knows well that design integration plays a critical role among architecture, interior and furniture; the space value can be maximized only with the integration and harmony among architecture, interior and furniture.
